Why do people complain about stupid things?

I just don’t see the point in complaining. Life is gonna hand you lemons, and Beyoncé just took you through the step-by-step process on how to turn them into lemonade. I find that people start to complain when they encounter an unpleasant situation they’re too lazy to do anything about. Complaining is lazy. When something makes you unhappy- FIX IT!! For example, ladies, we all know we have that one friend who brings all kinds of crazy drama or stress into our life. Instead of letting that one individual make a negative impact on my happiness or drag me down, I just cut her off and move on. I have never understood why someone will go back-and-fourth with vicious text messages and endless sub tweets when you can literally block their number, or their account. Don’t let someone have the ability to contact you, and don’t subject yourself to viewing their profile/opinions. If you don’t want another persons actions to affect you, you 100% have the control to make that your reality.

Another stupid reason people complain is because they want to play victim in a situation that’s “unfair”. For example, I work for a dance competition company. Almost every weekend I encounter a studio director who wants to complain that a certain dancer is competing outside their designated age class or skill level, thus giving the dancer an advantage. While I can assure you my company does it’s very best to insure that all dancers are registered appropriately, my personal theory is that with the proper training and preparation, there is no reason a 9 year old taking one class a week could not out dance a 15 year old who takes 10 hours of classes each week. What I’m saying is that instead of complaining, focus on bettering your dancer(s) so that they can beat even the best of the best. The real kicker is that more often than not, the directors that complain about this issue are typically from the studios that place very well and place often- so then it’s like- WHY BOTHER COMPLAINING. IT CAUSED NO PROBLEMS?!

Before you say anything- I’m not complaining. I’m simply stating an observation. Complaining is a waste of time and energy. Go change the things you don’t like, get rid of the things that make you unhappy, mind your own beeswax and turn that frown upside down.
